My Favorite ~Budget Friendly~ Brand
We all know that makeup can be really expensive. It’s no secret that we’re willing to pay top dollar for our favorite product from brands these days. But, what about the brands that have stood the test of time AND keep their prices affordable so everyone can experience the magic. I believe that everyone should have access to makeup and the feeling it can give you when you put it on. So today, we’re talking about my favorite budget friendly makeup brand that is always delivering exceptional quality at affordable prices. Drum Roll Please………. It’s NYX. They are one of my most used brands that I carry in my professional kit. Everything from brows to lips to eyes, they always slay. Let’s get into why!
My favorite piece of the art of makeup is the brows. You can ask any number of my clients and they will all say that I am a brow fanatic! NYX has helped me create and shape flawless brows for over 5 years now. The NYX Micro Precise Brow Pencil was the very first brow product I ever bought to use professionally. It is super user friendly and can be used cohesively with other products on the brows. Not to mention, the shade range is impeccable. I, of course, have tried other brow pencils, but nothing compares to the quality, not even the ABH brow definer. I said what I said. They also have a plethora of products to gel, stick, and hold the brows in place. My favorite being the $9 NYX Brow Glue in clear. It gives that laminated effect in just two steps and thats the kind of ease I live for.
A staple product that will never leave my kit are the NYX lip liners. They are $5, so creamy, pigmented, and long lasting, that theres nothing else you can really ask for from a lip liner. I adore the Retractable Lip Liners for that extra pigmented and precise line and the Suede Matte Lip Liners for my bridal clients who need staying power. These are such amazing liners for professional makeup artists and the everyday makeup wearer! Affordability and exceptional quality should go hand in hand. Brands like NYX have realized that they don’t need to charge an arm and a leg for people to know their product is amazing. There are whole groups of people that will never get their hands on the famous Charlotte Tillbury ‘pillow talk’ lip liner because of its price point at $25. You could buy 5 NYX lip liners for $25, one of them being a dupe for ‘pillow talk’ in the shade, 09 ‘tea and cookies.’
Other NYX products that should be inducted into the Hall of Amazing Beauty Products are: the Vivid Brights Colored Liquid Liner these are so good and have been with me on my makeup journey since the beginning. Priced at $9, the color payoff is great and the staying power is even better. These last a lifetime! I have even used the cobalt shade to dye false lashes for a cool funky look. I have a long history with NYX, for a while they were the only brand I could afford to fill my kit with. Creating a kit that has every foundation shade is hard and expensive. In the beginning, I opted for the NYX Total Control Drop Foundation due to the shade range and price point at $14. (Right now its on sale for $7 RUN.) This foundation is a buildable formula that made it really easy to use as a newbie MUA. Since it comes in a dropper style bottle, it is really easy to add more drops for more coverage or use drops to adjust foundation shades.
